4th Sunday in Advent

Angels, from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o'er all the earth;
Ye who sang creation's story,
Now proclaim Messiah's birth;
Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ, the newborn King.
-- James Montgomery

For the Third Sunday in Advent

Hark, the glad sound! The Savior comes,
The Savior promised long;
Let every heart exult with joy,
And every voice be song!
Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace,
Thy welcome shall proclaim;
And heavens exalted arches ring
With Thy most honored Name.

For the Second Sunday of Advent

“Welcome to earth, thou noble guest,
through whom the sinful world is blest!
In my distress thou com’st to me;
what thanks shall I return to thee?”
-- Martin Luther, 1535

First Sunday in Advent

“In Bethlehem long years ago a virgin mother nursed her child.
Who was that baby? Do you know? He was our Savior, meek and mild.
If you know why the Savior came, I’m sure you’ll love and trust him too.
Will you tell others? Speak his name? And tell them what he came to do?”
-- A Child’s Christmas Carol, James Montgomery Boice

For the Lord's Day

‎"If God has laid your sins upon the Son of His love, you may rest assured that He will never lay them a second time upon you; since, if Christ has borne them and atoned for them to Divine justice, they never again can be found." - Octavius Winslow

For the Lord's Day

“True faith – created in me by the Holy Spirit through the gospel – is not only a knowledge and conviction that everything that God reveals in his word is true, but also a deep-rooted assurance that not only others, but I too, have had my sins forgiven, have been made forever right with God, and have been granted salvation. These are gifts of sheer grace earned for us by Christ.” Zacharius Ursinus, 1534 – 1583 Ursinus is the author of the Heidelberg Catechism and a part of the German Reformation. The Catechism along with the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dordt are known as the Three Forms of Unity – the confessional statements of many of the continental Reformed Churches, and some churches in our own country as well.
